Instead of using 7-7  (7 bundles of 7 wires, not very fatigue resistant) we use extremely fatigue resistant 7-19 cable; 2.) Our cable is coated with much tougher Nylon instead of Vinyl; 3.) We make the ends, eyelets or stops, in our shop from 316 stainless steel.  In addition, our eyelets are designed to thread through the TG 2000/3000 pulleys that have the push-nut holding the pulley sheave (wheel) pin since that pulley cannot be reassembled with integrity because of the push-nut .  The pulleys that have lock-nuts, pins with cotter pins, or pins with spring clips are easily disassembled and reassembled to install the cable.

The cable on this page is the Huck Products Replacement Cable for any retail Total Gym® with Metal Frame Handles (look at the handle frame, not the grip) or the Nylon Webbing Strap Handles. This cable has eyelets on both ends. This cable will not work with the Plastic Frame Handles that are shaped like a horse stirrup. The same model of Total Gym® might have either kind of handle.

The original retail Total Gym® cables vary in length from 90″ to 102″. Our cables are 96″. Because of the compound pulley arrangement with 3 pulleys and 4 lengths of cable leading to the glide-board (2 to the pulley and one to each handle), any difference in cable length is divided by 4 to calculate the difference in glide-board position due to different cable length. Therefore the largest difference in Glide-board position would be 1-1/2″ and since there is extra travel on the rails, this difference is not noticeable.

If your Total Gym® has plastic frame handles shaped like a horse stirrup you need the cable for plastic handles which has hex shaped stops instead of eyelets. You may wish to consider upgrading to our premium stainless steel handles with cable for metal handles since the plastic handles may not last forever.
