We discovered that some ancient Commercial Total Gyms® with 1/4″ axles have this wheel assembly bracket (see picture below) instead of the long channel bracket, and will not accommodate this new wheel as-is. You will need to purchase our new stainless steel brackets to fit our Type A wheels, as they are a larger diameter which gives them much more strength.
These are stainless steel replacement brackets for the Commercial Total Gyms with Type A wheels that have ¼” diameter axle bolts or pins and 4 separate wheel assembly brackets (not the two long “C” shaped brackets that go the length of the glide-board and support two wheels each (one upper and one lower)). These brackets are longer than the original brackets to accommodate our larger diameter, much stronger replacement wheels. Set of 2 Brackets
Note:
We have noticed that the original brackets are usually mounted on the uneven folded and stapled vinyl covering. Since the bracket is mounted at an angle, the wheel is not parallel to the rails and the wheels only wear on one side and don’t last nearly as long as they should. We recommend installing our brackets directly on the plywood or on one even layer of vinyl (not a folded portion) so that the wheels will last an extremely long time.

You can use the Type A wheels without the new brackets, however you may need to bend the tips up slightly with pliers or a wrench, as shown above.
